Manipur Violence: Violence is not stopping in Manipur. Every day there are reports of violence from some district or the other in the state. Now violence has taken place in Tenganupal district of Manipur. At least 14 people have died in the violence that took place in the district on Monday afternoon.

There was firing between two groups in Leethu village of Tenganupal district. In this regard, security forces officials said that in the afternoon, information about firing between two groups of terrorists was received in Saibol of the district. He said the security forces were about 10 km away from the spot. After the information, when our forces reached the spot, they found 14 bodies in Leethu village. However, no weapons were found near the bodies.

He said it appeared that the deceased were not from the Leethu area. They may have come from some other place, after which they engaged in a shootout with a different group, as police and security forces are yet to confirm the identities of the dead. Meanwhile, the police has reached the spot and the matter is being investigated.

Let us tell you that since May 3, Manipur has been engulfed by ethnic clashes between Meitei and Kuki communities. At least 182 people were killed and about 50,000 left homeless in the clashes. Last Sunday, i.e. on December 3, the authorities had lifted the ban on mobile internet services in the violence-hit state after seven months, except in the border areas of some districts.
