Mamta’s controversial statement
Mamta Banerjee said that if the final match of the Cricket World Cup had been held in Kolkata or Mumbai, India’s victory was certain. While taking a dig at PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, he said that the Indian cricket team had won all the matches in the World Cup except the one in which ‘sinners’ were present. Mamata Banerjee did not stop here, she alleged that an attempt was made to make Indian players wear saffron jerseys. Mamta said that the players protested so the Indian team did not have to wear the saffron colored jersey during the match.

He had said that it is beyond understanding why the players wore the saffron colored jersey, and held BJP responsible for this. Mamta also said that BJP people are engaged in saffronizing everything. He took on BJP over allegations of cow smuggling into Bangladesh via West Bengal. He asked that cows are brought from different states including UP for smuggling in Bangladesh.
