According to CBI officials, no preliminary investigation or FIR has been registered against Mahua Moitra yet, but it is believed that CBI can interrogate TMC MP Mahua Moitra.
CBI will decide only after its investigation whether a case should be registered against the TMC MP or not. Apart from this, CBI cannot arrest or search any accused under preliminary investigation, but it can make inquiries in relation to the case.
