Except for the last 5 overs, Kolkata Knight Riders had the upper hand throughout the match. But, Jos Buttler turned the tables in the last five overs and KKR lost despite winning.

KKR co-owner Shahrukh Khan told his players in the dressing room, "There come such days in our lives, especially in sports, when we do not deserve defeat and there are some days when we do not even deserve victory. I think we didn’t deserve to lose today. You all have played well though, we are very proud of ourselves. Please don’t feel small and sad. Feel absolutely normal, we are on a high and we have to keep it going. There are always wins and losses. Have to maintain your energy."
Shahrukh encouraged KKR players
After the match, another video of Shahrukh Khan was revealed, in which he reached the ground to meet the players disappointed with the defeat and hugged everyone and encouraged them. He went to each player and worked to breathe new life into him.
