IAF’s Surya Kiran training aircraft crashes in Chamarajanagar, Karnataka.

A Surya Kiran training aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed near Makali village in Chamrajnagar district of Karnataka on Thursday. The incident happened during a routine training flight. Both the pilots including the female pilot ejected safely from the accident. The Indian Air Force has ordered a Court of Inquiry to find out the cause of the plane crash.

The emergency landing of the plane took place in Karnataka.

A training aircraft belonging to Redbird Aviation made an emergency landing in Belagavi, Karnataka. Two pilots also suffered minor injuries in this aircraft, after which they were hurriedly taken to the Air Force hospital. According to media reports, the training aircraft carrying a pilot and a trainee pilot took off from Belagavi’s Sambra Airport at 9.30 am. However, it had to make an emergency landing in a field at Honihala village in Belagavi after it encountered a technical snag mid-air. It was a training aircraft. Last month, a MiG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) had also crashed in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. Three people had died in this accident. The fighter jet was on a routine sortie when it crashed. In this, the pilots were saved safely, they had only minor injuries. An inquiry was ordered into the accident. Two weeks after the crash, the Indian Air Force decided to ground its aging fleet of Soviet-origin aircraft, which have been involved in over 400 accidents since induction.
