Gujrat Violence: There is a situation of tension in Narmada district of Gujarat after communal violence. Shaurya Yatra was being taken out by Bajrang Dal in Selamba area of Narmada district, which was attacked. After this there was a huge uproar. There has been a lot of arson and stone pelting in the area. The police dispersed the crowd by firing tear gas shells, after which a large number of police forces were deployed.
Yatra attacked while passing through Muslim colony
According to media reports, Shaurya Yatra was organized by Bajrang Dal between Kaida and Selamba villages. When the Yatra was passing through a Muslim colony, some unruly elements suddenly started pelting stones at the Yatra. After this both the sides came face to face. During that time some people set fire to the shops.
Police remained a mute spectator due to lack of weapons
Let us tell you that during the Shaurya Yatra, some policemen were also present at the yatra site, but they did not have weapons. Because of this the police failed to control the crowd. Many people were injured in stone pelting, while many shops, houses and vehicles were also damaged in the arson. At present, forces from several police stations and additional forces have been deployed at the incident site. The district police is monitoring the situation.
Incident like Nuh violence in Haryana
On July 31, a similar attack took place on a yatra being taken out by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, in which 6 people lost their lives and many were injured. Due to this, internet was shut down in many districts, while Section 144 was imposed in some places.
