Dhiraj Sahu IT Raid: The Income Tax Department raided the premises of Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand, Dheeraj Prasad Sahu. In this raid, the Income Tax Department has recovered more than Rs 300 crore in cash. This raid started on Wednesday 6th December and counting of notes.
The Income Tax Department has found this cash in Odisha and Jharkhand. All this cash was filled in the shelves. Now a video of this raid is also going viral. It can be seen in the video that bundles of notes are crammed in many shelves.
The video of this raid went viral on Friday i.e. 8th December. At the same time, there was a shortage of machines for counting the bundles of notes inside the shelves. The Income Tax Department had to order three dozen counting machines to count the notes. The raid was against an Odisha-based distillery group and its associated entities, Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand Dheeraj Prasad Sahu has been linked to the case. However, the MP has not yet made any comment in this regard.
When did the action take place
In fact, on Wednesday i.e. 6th December, the Income Tax Department raided Boudh Distillery Private Limited and its associated companies in Odisha. All these companies have links with Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu. Apart from this, the Income Tax Department also raided Baldev Sahu Infra Private Limited Company. These raids have been conducted in Sambalpur, Bolangir, Titilagarh, Boudh, Sundergarh, Rourkela, Bhubaneswar and Ranchi of Jharkhand apart from Bokaro in Odisha.
Who is Dheeraj Sahu
Dheeraj Prasad Sahu was born on November 23, 1955 in Ranchi. Dheeraj Sahu is a three-time Rajya Sabha MP. He reached the Upper House of Parliament for the first time in the year 2009. After this, he was elected Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand in July 2010 and again in May 2018 for the third time.
