Rahul Gandhi on PM Modi: The Delhi High Court has directed the Election Commission of India to take action as per law against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and businessman Gautam Adani as pickpockets. The court said that the statements given by the Congress MP were not good. The court has given the Election Commission eight weeks to take action.

Election Commission replied

On the issue of giving instructions to make strict rules to curb such speeches, the court remarked that it cannot give instructions to the Parliament. At the same time, the Election Commission told the Delhi High Court that the show cause notice to the Congress MP was issued on November 23 itself and the Model Code of Conduct was in force at that time.

Rahul Gandhi had called PM Modi a pickpocket

In fact, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had called PM Modi a pickpocket in a rally during Rajasthan elections. Also, he said that Modi comes on TV and says Hindu-Muslim and sometimes goes to watch cricket matches. It is a different matter that he lost. A new petition was filed in the Delhi High Court against this statement of Rahul Gandhi. Describing the allegations in the petition as serious, it was accused of influencing the elections. The court said that the comments made by the Congress MP are not a good sign.

Had made objectionable comments before also

Even before this, the Supreme Court had given relief against Rahul Gandhi in the case of objectionable remarks against PM Modi. The court had stayed the conviction against Rahul Gandhi. Not only this, the court had stayed the decision of Gujarat High Court in the case of July 2023. Let us tell you that Gujarat High Court had sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years of imprisonment, after which Rahul Gandhi lost his membership of Parliament. But the Supreme Court stayed the sentence, after which Rahul Gandhi’s membership of Parliament was reinstated.
