Durand Cup 2023:India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh (Defense Minister Rajnath Singh) reached the opening ceremony of the 132nd Durand Cup (Durand Cup 2023) in Kokrajhar district of Assam. Rajnath Singh said, “Rules and regulations are very important in football. You all must be well aware of the off-side rule of football. If a player goes off-side and scores a goal, Even if he does, it is not considered a goal. That means as soon as you go against the rules, even if your effort is successful, it is not meaningful. Yellow card for going against the rules and Things like Red Card are also seen. Things like Yellow Card and Red Card are also there to maintain the system. If there is no provision of penalty for breaking the rules, then there is no use of the rules. There will be no importance. Means you have to follow all the rules and regulations during the whole game. So whether it is a game, society or nation, its rules have great importance and it is important for all of us to maintain them. A true sportsperson and a true citizen is the one who does his duty according to all the rules of the game and society.”

This time a total of 43 matches will be played in the Durand Cup. A total of 24 teams participating in the tournament have been divided into 6 groups. Four teams are participating in one group. The tournament will be telecast live on Sony Sports Ten 2 and live streamed on Sony Liv app. The first semi-final of the Durand Cup will be played on August 29 and the second semi-final on August 31 and the final on September 3.
