Chandrayaan-3: Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander and Pragyan rover are expected to wake up once again. After 14 days of night, the sun’s rays have once again started reaching the south pole of the Moon. Indian Space Research Organization is ready to wake up Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover modules. Since their successful landing on August 23, both of them have been in deep sleep on the cold surface of the moon and the temperature had dropped to 200 degrees Celsius. ISRO said that the lander and rover can start working after sunlight appears.

ISRO had put the lander in sleep mode on September 4. Also, earlier on September 2, the rover was also set in sleep mode. However, before putting it in sleep mode, ISRO had left the receivers of Vikram lander and Pragyan rover on and had also fully charged the batteries. The rover is set in such a direction that sunlight falls directly on the panels.

What will happen if Vikram and Pragyan wake up?

If Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover wake up from sleep, it will prove to be a bonus for ISRO. According to the data sent so far, the mission work of these two has been completed. Many in-situ experiments can be done again by ISRO. After waking up, some more data will be available, which will take some time to analyze and get results, but some new information can also be obtained.

Important information collected so far

When the rover and Vikram lander are expected to wake up, the eyes of the whole world are again on the moon. After Chandrayaan’s soft landing at the South Pole, during its 14 days, Pragyan Rover had discovered many important things including Sulphur. Apart from this, interesting and unseen pictures of the Moon’s South Pole were also presented. ISRO said that if everything goes according to plan, then after the command is fed into the rover, the rover can start moving.
