Exactly a year ago on this day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi began his 136-day, over 4,000 kilometer journey from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu to Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Through this yatra, Congress had talked about promoting brotherhood across the country. Today, on completion of one year of the yatra, Rahul Gandhi has also given a statement.

On completion of one year of Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted on his official Twitter handle that crores of steps towards unity and love of Bharat Jodo Yatra have become the foundation of a better tomorrow for the country. He further wrote that the journey continues until India is united. This is my promise. Rahul Gandhi held 12 public meetings, addressed more than 100 street meetings and 13 press conferences during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The Congress party has planned to take out foot marches at 722 places across the country, with Congress Working Committee members, state Congress presidents and Congress Legislature Party leaders directed to participate in the march. However, soon the Congress party will start the Bharat Jodo Yatra again. This time the journey will be from west to east.

Rahul Gandhi is not present in the country

Rahul is not present in the country to celebrate the anniversary of Bharat Jodo Yatra. The Congress leader is currently in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. According to media reports, he will participate in talks with members of the European Parliament today. This will be Rahul Gandhi’s first interaction during his five-day Europe tour. Along with this, he will have dinner with the Indian diaspora. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge congratulated Gandhi on the completion of one year of Bharat Jodo Yatra.
