Abdullah Azam Fake Birth Certificates Case: Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has received a big blow from the MP-MLA court. In fact, the special MP-MLA court of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh convicted Azam Khan, his wife Tanzeem Fatima and his son Abdullah Azam Khan in the fake birth certificate case. The court has sentenced all three to 7-7 years. Along with this, a fine of Rs 15 thousand has also been imposed. After being found guilty, the police arrested all three people. This case is related to the dual birth certificate case of Abdullah Azam Khan.

Abdullah Azam Khan is accused of obtaining a passport on the basis of the first birth certificate and undertaking foreign tours and using the second certificate for government-related purposes. Both the certificates were issued fraudulently and as part of a pre-planned conspiracy.

The matter is related to 2017 assembly elections

According to media reports, the case of fake birth certificate is related to the 2017 UP Assembly elections. In 2017, Azam Khan’s son Abdullah Azam had contested elections from Swar assembly seat of Rampur. Abdullah Azam had also won this election, but after the election results, his opponent candidate Nawab Kazim Ali had reached Allahabad High Court. Kazim had alleged that the age mentioned by Abdullah Azam in the election form is actually not that much. Kazim had claimed that Abdullah Azam does not meet the age criteria to contest MLA elections.

Abdullah’s date of birth in the educational certificate is January 1, 1993, whereas on the basis of birth certificate, his birth is stated as September 30, 1990. During the hearing of this case in the High Court, the birth certificate presented by Abdullah was found to be fake. After this his membership was cancelled. Now in this case itself, the court has declared them guilty and sentenced all three including father and mother to seven years of imprisonment.
