Delhi Pollution: Pollution has arrived in Delhi with winter. Air pollution has engulfed the national capital this time too. Like every year, this year too the Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi seems to have failed in controlling pollution. According to the information, despite many efforts, the governments of Delhi and Punjab could not control stubble burning. The result is that this time too Delhi is getting surrounded by air pollution.

being burnt in Haryana-Punjab

According to media reports, like every time in Delhi’s neighboring states Haryana and Punjab, cases of stubble burning have started coming to light this time too. In both the states, claims of control over stubble burning seem to be failing. Stubble is being burnt indiscriminately in both the states. According to media reports, cases of stubble burning come to light every day. So far this year, incidents of stubble burning have been reported at 1764 places in Punjab, in which a fine of Rs 112000 has been imposed in 42 cases.

If we talk about Haryana, there are frequent cases of stubble burning here too. Stubble is being burnt indiscriminately in the state. This time, cases of stubble burning in Haryana have broken the record of the last 4 years. According to media reports, 112 cases of stubble burning have been registered in Haryana from September 15 to October 1.

Government’s claims fail

After these cases came to light, it has become clear that the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab and Delhi claims that the cases of stubble burning in Punjab have reduced, but the reality is completely different from its claims. If the government truly wants to ban stubble burning, then the governments of both the states will have to make the farmers completely aware. Apart from this, they will have to provide resources. Only after this the problem of stubble can be solved.

Fine is imposed for burning stubble

Let us tell you that to control pollution, NGT had banned burning of stubble in the year 2013 itself. A fine of Rs 2500 was imposed for disobeying the rules and Rs 15,000 for damage to the environment, but it does not seem to have much impact. The incidents of stubble burning have been increasing year after year.

Pollution havoc continues in Delhi

Let us tell you that the effect of stubble burning in the neighboring states has wreaked havoc on the capital Delhi due to pollution. It has become difficult for people to breathe in the open here. Today on Tuesday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 303, which falls in the ‘very poor’ category. In different areas of the capital, AQI has been seen lower and higher in some places.
