Rajasthan News: A five year old girl was pulling out her own hair and eating it. A tuft of hair formed in the stomach. The family brought him to Dungarpur Medical College on the complaint of repeated stomach ache and loss of appetite. Even the doctors were surprised during the examination. On Wednesday, a team of 9 doctors operated for 40 minutes and saved the girl’s life by removing a bunch of 350 to 400 grams of hair from her stomach. Doctors told that the girl is suffering from a disease called Tricho Bezoar.
The girl is from Kharagada
According to the doctors of the Medical College, a 5-year-old girl resident of Khadagada village was taken to the hospital by her parents. The family told the doctor that the girl had no appetite. There is swelling in the stomach and difficulty in eating and drinking. The doctor got the girl examined, in which it was found that there was a bunch of hair in the girl’s stomach. The girl was admitted and treatment started. After this the doctors decided to operate.
The tuft of hair had spread to the intestines
On Wednesday, Dr. Mahendra Damor, Dr. Sushma, Dr. Arjun Kharadi, Dr. Rajat Yadav, Dr. Suhani Gadiya, Dr. Vinita Goda, Dr. Amit Jain, Dr. Kush, Dr. Kamala along with Pushpa Katara, Javed, Maya’s team performed a successful operation on the girl. By making an incision in the stomach, a bunch of 350 to 400 grams of hair was taken out. This bunch of hair extended from the stomach to the intestines. Instead of food, there was hair in the stomach. Due to this, the girl was facing many problems including eating and drinking. After an operation that lasted 40 minutes, the doctors gave a new life to the girl.
Trichobezoar disease is called
Doctors said that the habit of eating hair hinders the physical development of children. This is called trichobezoar disease. Due to this disease, children eat their own hair. After this the hair gets collected like a bunch in the stomach. Due to this the ability to eat and drink is lost. This girl also has the same disease. After the operation, the girl’s health is now fine.
