It contains compounds such as amino acids, aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and ethanol. Aspartame is used in baked foods-cakes, pastries, cookies or freeze-dried desserts, ice cream.

Risk of heart disease and diabetes

According to the World Health Organization, long-term consumption of artificial sugar does not help in reducing fat. On the contrary, it can create a health risk. Its continuous consumption can increase the risk of Type 2 Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Death Rate in people. According to the Indian Journal of Diabetes and Endocrinology, if artificial sweetener is taken in excess, it can also cause problems of blood sugar, blood pressure, obesity.
