The incidents happening with the Hindu minorities in Pakistan are not taking the name of stopping. Along with this, now another new case has emerged from Pakistan. Holi, the festival of colours, is celebrated to mark the arrival of spring. At least 30 students from Pakistan’s minority Hindu community were celebrating Holi on the Panjab University campus. After which the students of the Islamic organization reached there and started stopping them from celebrating Holi, after which there was a violent clash between the two groups.

University student and eyewitness Kashif Brohi said that as the students gathered in the lawns of the law college, activists of Islami Jamiat Tulba forcibly stopped them from celebrating Holi. After which there was a clash between the students of both the organisations. 15 Hindu students were injured in this violent clash. During this, Brohi claimed that he had taken permission from the university administration to celebrate Holi. Another student, Khet Kumar, said that he was hit by university guards when he protested outside the vice-chancellor’s office.

Along with this, Khet Kumar further said that we have given a police case against the IJT and the security guards involved in beating and torturing us, but the police have not yet registered any FIR in this matter.

According to media reports, IJT Punjab University spokesperson Ibrahim Shahid said that none of our students was involved in the incident. He further said that none of the students involved in the brawl with the Hindu students belonged to the IJT. After this, Panjab University spokesperson Khurram Shahzad said that the administration of the university had not given permission to celebrate Holi in the college. Also said that if the function was celebrated inside the house then there would be no problem. He said that the VC has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
