Marcelino lived 12 decades of his life and on April 5 he celebrated his 124th birthday.

Marcelino Abad was born in the small town of Chagla in Peru. In 2019, the Peruvian government identified him as the oldest person. After this he was provided government ID and pension. Abad said that his lifestyle is quite normal. They eat lamb meat along with fruits in their diet.
The Andean communities of Peru have a special tradition in which they chew the leaves of the local plant coca. Marcelino has also adopted this habit.
Who currently has the title of oldest person?
Guinness World Records currently lists a 111-year-old British man as the oldest living person. Earlier a person from Venezuela had this title. His age was 114 years. But after his death in March, the name of the British man came to the top of the list. At the same time, the oldest living woman is 117 years old, while the oldest person verified so far was 122 years old.
