There was heavy criticism even before this
This is not the first time that the Trudeau government is being accused of working against freedom of expression. In February 2022, Trudeau invoked emergency powers for the first time in the country’s history to give his government more power to respond to protests by truck drivers who were protesting vaccine mandates at the time.
