Alaska Earthquake:A massive 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Alaska Peninsula region today. Tsunami warnings were issued in some areas of the US state after the earthquake. The USGS said the earthquake was at a depth of 9.3 km (5.78 mi). The Alaska Earthquake Center said tremors were felt across the Alaska Peninsula, the Aleutian Islands and the Cook Inlet regions. After this there has been a stir among the people of America.
There was an earthquake two weeks ago as well.
This comes after a minor earthquake struck Anchorage, Alaska two weeks ago. According to the USGS, the quake was recorded about 12 miles south of downtown and about two miles south of Eagle River. However, no injuries or damages were reported then. Data provided by the USGS showed the quake was 17.5 miles deep and followed another report on the West Coast. There was no information about any casualty or any kind of damage. The ring is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, as are the Alaska earthquakes.
