Vodafone Idea 5G Launch: There is great news for the users of telecom company Vodafone-Idea. Soon Vi users will get the benefit of high speed 5G services like Jio and Airtel. Let us tell you that Reliance Jio and Airtel have already taken a massive lead in 5G network launch.
During an interview, Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla officially confirmed that Vodafone-Idea will soon launch 5G services in India. Airtel and Jio have already covered most of the metros and are gradually expanding their 5G networks to cities across the country. Currently Vi users are getting 4G service.
Due to being far behind in 5G rollout, Vi is constantly losing its users. According to the reports, since April 2022, the company has lost more than 4.24 crore users. The 12-month period ending December 2022 saw a decline of 24.2 million users. The report further mentions that the telecom operator reported a loss of Rs 7990 crore in the fourth quarter of 2022 as against a net loss of Rs 7595.5 crore in the previous quarter.
As per the recent reports, Reliance Jio has launched its 5G services in more than 400 cities in India. Airtel has launched its 5G service in 500 cities of India with its non-standalone model. Airtel and Jio are rolling out 5G network very fast. Both the telecom networks have promised to complete the 5G rollout including towns and villages by the end of March 2024. The Government of India is pushing for the adoption of 5G technology after the Department of Telecom DoT announced plans for 5G spectrum in 2022. The good thing is that work has also started regarding 6G rollout in India.
