Sensex Today: The stock market once again reached a new all-time high today on Monday (December 11). During trading, Sensex crossed 70 thousand for the first time and reached the level of 70,048. Nifty also touched the level of 21,019. Earlier on Friday (December 8) also, the stock market had reached its highest ever level. Today the Sensex opened with a gain of 100 points at 69,925. Nifty also opened 82 points higher at 20,965. During early trading, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 17 were in the rise and 13 were in the decline.

BSE Sensex touched the 1,000 mark for the first time in 1990

On July 25, 1990, the BSE Sensex crossed the 1,000 mark for the first time. It took almost 16 years to reach from 1 thousand to 10 thousand (6 February 2006). But the journey from 10 thousand to 70 thousand was completed in just 17 years. Good signals from global markets, there has been strength in Asia. There was a rise in American markets on Friday. The S&P 500 index rose for the sixth consecutive week and reached a new high this year. Crude has recovered after 6 consecutive days of decline. The price rose more than 2 percent to about $76.

Earlier on Friday (December 8), the stock market had reached its highest ever level. During trading, Sensex touched the level of 69,893.80, while Nifty touched the level of 21,006.10. However, at the end of trading the Sensex closed 303.91 points higher at 69,825.60. Nifty also closed at 20,969.40, up 68.25 points. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 19 stocks rose while 11 stocks declined.
