After Twitter, Threads also implemented these rules.

Instagram thread: After Twitter, now Instagram Threads has also set the limit for viewing posts of users. The newly launched platform has cited spam attacks as the reason behind its decision. The announcement was made by Instagram head Adam Mosseri via a thread post. They said they are tightening rate limits on the platform due to increasing spam attacks. The move will also limit active users on the platform.

Earlier this month, Twitter also announced a similar rate cap on its platform. At that time its owner and CEO Elon Musk blamed data scraping by new AI startups for his decision. Twitter initially allowed paid users to view a maximum of 6000 posts a day and unverified was restricted to 600 posts. The limit was later raised to 10,000 for verified accounts, 1,000 for unverified accounts, and 500 for new, unverified accounts.

Elon Musk also reacted

As soon as Mosseri wrote, people started sharing his screenshots on Twitter. One such screenshot was shared by a user named “Ramp Capital Guy”. Twitter owner Elon Musk replied to the post saying, “Lmaooo Copy cat.”

Following the new Threads move, some users may face a limit on the number of posts they can see in a day. Thereby also hindering their ability to use the app. However, unlike Twitter, where users can only see a limited number of posts, Mosseri is suggesting users contact them if they encounter a rate limit. This means that Threads wants to prevent its users from harming the experience of using the app.

Meanwhile, Musk announced that he would halve the limit of viewable posts for verified users, meaning they could now see up to 15,000 posts.
