Two new electric scooters will soon enter the Indian market.

Gadgets News:Indian electric scooter manufacturing company Ather Energy will now launch new models domestically and will also test export markets. The chief executive of the company has confirmed this. He said that after the government reduces the subsidy on vehicles, companies will raise money to promote development.

Government reduced incentive amount

According to media reports, the company’s chief executive said that the market for electric scooters in India is small, but people in India are now increasingly turning towards electric vehicles. In the last financial year, the share of e-models in total scooter and motorcycle sales was 5 percent. Whereas the government has set a target of 70 percent by 2030. He said that in May this year, the government reduced the cash incentive on vehicles from 40 percent of the pre-tax price to a maximum of 15 percent. In a single month, total e-scooter sales increased by more than half. This also affected the sales of Ather.

The company is working on two new models.

According to media reports, the company’s CEO Tarun Mehta said that the company is now working on two new models, one of which will be launched six months ago. He said if changes in government subsidies had not been made, the transition to electric vehicles could have happened faster. He said this change means we have to accelerate product launches and invest more in product development. He said India will not only be the world’s largest market for electric two-wheelers but will also be the largest exporter.
