A week after the start of the new financial year 2023-24, relief news has come to the fore for the common man. Two big companies of the country, Adani Total Gas Limited ATGL and Mahanagar Gas Limited MGL have announced to cut the prices of CNG-PNG from 8th April today. In fact, after the Union Cabinet approved the new formula for determining the prices of CNG and PNG gas, there has been a reduction in the prices.

As per the new rules of the government, the price of CNG and PNG has been linked to the imported crude. Imported crude is directly related to the crude oil that India buys from other countries. After the implementation of the new rule, the prices of CNG and PNG have come down by ten percent. This simply means that the price at which India will buy crude oil, the price of domestic gas will be equal to 10 percent of that. Under the new formula, the prices of CNG-PNG will now be fixed every month. All the rules of the government are effective from Saturday. In the capital Delhi, the price of CNG from Rs 79.56 per kg came down to Rs 73.59 per kg.

Adani Total Gas Limited has decided to cut the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) with effect from 8th April today. According to a press release, the price of CNG has been reduced by Rs 8.13 per kg and that of PNG by Rs 5.06 per cubic centimetre.

Mahanagar Gas Limited MGL cut prices

Mahanagar Gas, a subsidiary of Gail India, on Friday announced a reduction in the retail price of CNG by Rs 8 per kg and domestic PNG by Rs 5 per scm in its licensed area. The new prices have come into effect from 12 midnight.
