Big action by X, more than 2 lakh accounts banned in 1 month, know the whole matter

Big action by Social media company X run by Elon Musk has shared its monthly compliance report. According to this report, Musk has banned more than 2 lakh accounts in India in a span of one month. These accounts have been banned due to violation of company policies.

Accounts banned for this reason
Most of these banned accounts promote child sexual abuse and non-consensual nudity. Apart from this, 1,235 accounts have also been removed for promoting terrorism on the platform. This data is from 26 February to 25 March 2024.

Total number of accounts suspended
X Corporation, the company that operates and manages X, has said in its report that 2,12,627 accounts have been banned on social media. Of these, during the month of March, 1,235 accounts were removed for spreading terrorism in Indian cyber space. Last month, the company had suspended 5,6,173 accounts in India between January 26 and February 25.

The company took action on user complaints
According to the compliance report, Indian users had filed 5,158 complaints in the same time frame. The company took action on these complaints under the Grievance Redressal Mechanism. Apart from this, 86 complaints were received against account suspension from X. After reviewing these complaints, the company removed the ban from 7 accounts but the suspension will remain on other accounts.

Users complained about these things
X received the maximum number of 3,074 complaints from across the country for ban evasion. After this, users made 953 complaints on sensitive adult content, 412 on hateful conduct and 359 on harassment and abuse. Taking action on all these complaints, X has suspended 5,06,173 accounts within a span of 1 month.
