U/A Certificate

When any film is released, it needs a certificate from the censor board. The reason for which the board was formed and is working till date is the Cinematograph Act 1952, in which amendments are made from time to time according to the need. Cinematograph Bill 2023 was brought for some such amendments. There were proposals ranging from movie certification to piracy.

Three subcategories of U/A certificate

1. U/A 7+ : Only children above 7 years of age can watch this certificate film, that too under parental supervision.

2. U/A 13+ : Only children above 13 years of age can watch this certificate film, that too under parental supervision.

3. U/A 16+ : Only children above 16 years of age can watch this certificate film, that too under parental supervision.
