The actress had said that the youth must be in a live-in relationship before marriage to improve compatibility and their relationship. Mumtaz expressed objection
Recently, in an interview given to ‘Zoom’, actress Mumtaz, while reacting to Zeenat Aman’s recent statement, expressed her disagreement and expressed her objection to her advocacy of live-in relationship. They said- "I do not agree with Zeenat. No matter how much you live-in, what is the guarantee? What is the guarantee that your marriage will be successful even after living in a live-in relationship for months or years?"
‘Marriage has to be maintained’
he adds- "I say, there should be no marriage. What is the need to bind yourself? Why do you have to get married? for children? Go ahead and choose a man who is willing to adopt a child even without physical intimacy. The times have gone a long way. Empower your children. Raise your daughters with the belief that they do not need a man to be complete. I have been married for 40 years…marriage has to be maintained."
‘To look cool Zeenat…’
On advocating live-in relationships, Mumtaz further said- ‘As a society and a nation, we are not ready for this. Zeenat should be careful when giving such advice. She has suddenly become popular on social media due to this… and I can understand the excitement of her image of looking cool aunty. But giving such advice that deviates from our moral values is not the solution to increase your followers."
‘Their marriage was hell’
Mumtaz continued her talk and said- If girls adopt live-in culture, marriage as an institution will end. Would you marry your son to a girl whom you know is in a live-in relationship? Take Zeenat for example…she knew Mazhar Khan (her second husband) for many years before marriage. Their marriage had become hell while they were alive. She should be the last person to give advice on relationships.
