Karan Johar: Actress Anushka Sharma made her Bollywood debut with the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The film also played an important role in making the actress a superstar. The film proved to be a super hit at the box office as well. After this, Anushka’s performance in the film Band Baaja Baaraat was highly appreciated. Perhaps you would not know that Karan Johar had told Aditya Chopra, the producer of Anushka’s debut film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, not to cast her in the film. Karan Johar himself has disclosed this in an interview. Now this throwback video has become very much discussed. Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri has also reacted to this.
Actually, Karan Johar had said that he wanted to ruin Anushka’s career. Later, he also apologized to Anushka for this matter. The video of Karan Johar’s interview which has surfaced on social media is during the year 2016 during the 18th MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. Now Vivek Agnihotri has commented on this video without taking Karan’s name.
Karan said something like
In the video, Karan can be heard saying that I was totally going to murder Anushka Sharma’s career. When Aditya showed me Anushka’s photo, I flatly refused not to sign it at all. There is no need for you to sign it, I had a better lead actress and I wanted Aditya to sign her only. But when I saw Anushka’s Band Baaja Baaraat, I told her and also apologised. Karan further said, I felt bad that I was about to ruin the career of a really great actress.
Vivek Agnihotri targets Karan
Sharing this video on Twitter, Vivek Agnihotri wrote that there are some people, whose hobby is to make and spoil people’s career. Even if Bollywood is in the gutter, it is because of the dirty politics of some people against talented people. However, Aditya Chopra did not listen to Karan and signed Anushka Sharma for the film.
