Happy Birthday Asha Bhosle: Today is the birthday of famous Hindi film playback singer Asha Bhonsle. She is also known as Asha Tai in Bollywood. His biggest specialty is that he has spread the magic of his voice in every field from classical music and ghazal to pop music. He has lent his voice to 16 thousand songs in his film career so far. Apart from Hindi, she has also sung songs in Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, English and Russian languages.
Playback singer Asha Bhosle was born on 8 September 1933 in Sangli district of Maharashtra. His father Dinanath Mangeshkar was also a good singer. Asha’s father started teaching music from a very young age. When Asha Bhosle was only 9 years old, her father died. After this his entire family shifted to Mumbai. Lata Mangeshkar was his elder sister, who was known as Swar Kokila in the Hindi music world. After the death of the father, the burden of the family came on the shoulders of both the sisters, due to which their elder sister Lata ji started acting and singing in films.
Asha Bhosle did two marriages
Asha Bhosle first married at the age of 16 to Ganpat Rao Bhonsle, who was older than herself. He had done this marriage by going against the family, due to which he had to leave his house as well. This marriage of Asha Tai was unsuccessful. After this she came to her maternal home with her children. Asha Bhosle’s second marriage was to RD Varman, 6 years younger than herself. Asha ji performed this marriage very well till the last breath of Rahul Dev Burman. Asha ji had 3 children from her first marriage.
Asha sang the first song in the year 1948 in the film ‘Chunariya’
Asha Bhosle had to struggle a lot in her early career. Earlier he did playback singing for some films. Asha Bhosle sang her first song ‘Sawan Aaya…’ in the year 1948 in the film ‘Chunariya’. Four films proved to be milestones in Asha ji’s career – Naya Daur, Teesri Manzil, Umrao Jaan and Rangeela. The 1957 film ‘Naya Daur’ was Asha Bhosle’s first successful film. His songs ‘Saathi Haath Badhna…’ and ‘Ude Jab Jab Zulfe Teri…’ sung with Mohammed Rafi gave him a special recognition. Producer BR Chopra recognized his talent in ‘Naya Daur’ and gave him a chance in many subsequent films. The prominent films among them are Humraj, Waqt, Gumrah and Dhund.
