Happy Birthday Akshay Kumar: Today is the birthday of actor Akshay Kumar, famously known as ‘Khiladi’ in Bollywood. Today Akshay is completing 55 years of his life. Actor Akshay Kumar was born on 9 September 1967 in Amritsar, the famous religious city of Punjab.
Let us tell you that the real name of actor Akshay Kumar is Rajeev Bhatia. In his 30 years of film career, Akshay has worked in more than 100 films. Akshay Kumar has won many awards so far including two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. The Government of India honored him with the country’s highest honor Padma Shri in 2009. Forbes included Khiladi Kumar in its list of highest-paid celebrities and highest-paid actors from 2015 to 2020. He was the only Indian person in both lists between 2019 and 2020. Recently Akshay Kumar has also got Indian citizenship.
Akshay started his film career in 1991
Actor Akshay Kumar started his film career in the year 1991 with the film Saugandh, which was a flop. A year later, he got his first success with the action thriller film Khiladi, after which he became established as an action star in the 1990s. This was followed by a series of films like Mohra (1994), Jaanwar (1999) and Khiladi. After this he did romantic films like Dillagi (1994), Dhadkan (2000), Andaz (2003), Barsaat (2004) and Namastey London (2007).
Won Filmfare Awards for ‘Ajnabee’ and ‘Garam Masala’
Apart from this, he also worked in many comedy films like Hera Pheri (2000), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), Bhool Bhulaiya (2007), Singh is King (2008) and OMG (2012). Recently the sequel of this film OMG-2 was also released, which performed well at the box office. Akshay also won Filmfare Awards for his negative role in Ajnabee (2001) and for his comic role in Garam Masala (2004).
Akshay’s next film will be released on 6th October
It is noteworthy that actor Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Indian Rescue’ is going to be released on 6 October 2023, the teaser of which has been released tomorrow i.e. on 7 September. The film is based on a real-life incident in the Raniganj Coalfield of West Bengal and the life of late Jaswant Singh Gill, who led India’s Coal Rescue Mission. Akshay Kumar has played the role of Veer Jaswant Singh Gill in the film.
