Junior Mehmood Dealth: Veteran actor Naeem Sayyed, popularly known as Junior Mehmood, has passed away at the age of 67. He was suffering from stomach cancer for a long time. If reports are to be believed, he breathed his last on Friday at his home in Khar, Mumbai. Junior Mahmood was battling stage 4 stomach cancer. His health was not well for the last few days.
According to media reports, Junior Mahmood died at his residence at around 2.15 am on Friday. His death has been confirmed by his family members. It is being said that Junior Mehmood’s family had come to know only 18 days ago that the actor was suffering from fourth stage stomach cancer. Due to this he was taken to Tata Memorial Hospital. After checkup, the doctors there told that at this stage of cancer, treatment and chemotherapy would be very painful. Doctors had advised that he be taken care of at home. The actor’s last rites will be performed today at Santa Cruz cemetery after afternoon prayers.
Started career with ‘Mohabbat Zindagi Hai’
Let us tell you that Junior Mehmood started his film career as a child artist with the film ‘Mohabbat Zindagi Hai’ (1966). He worked in many films like Naunihal, Caravan, Haathi Mere Saathi, Mera Naam Joker, Suhaag Raat, Brahmachari, Kati Patang, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Geet Gaata Chal, Imandaar, Baap Nambari Beta Dus Nambari, Aaj Ka Arjun, Gurudev. Apart from this, the actor had worked on television for some time in shows like ‘Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara’ and ‘Ek Rishta Partnership Ka’. He also produced and directed many Marathi films.
