Kiran Rao-Aamir khan: Actor Aamir Khan’s ex-wife and filmmaker Kiran Rao has recently returned to direction with the film ‘Laapta Ladies’. His film is getting good response from critics to the audience. At the beginning of January 2024, Kiran was spotted with her son Azad at the grand wedding of Aamir’s daughter Ayra Khan, where her lovely bond with the family was seen.
Kiran-Aamir have a special relationship
Even after getting divorced in the year 2021, till date Kiran Rao and Aamir’s loving relationship is always visible. Be it family meetings or festivals, Kiran is often seen with her ex-husband. They had also revealed recently that even though both of them were not successful in marriage, their relationship has always been strong. Now recently the filmmaker has remembered the time when she was facing a lot of problems in the hope of having a child.
‘Many miscarriages occurred before the birth of son Azad’
Kiran Rao revealed in a latest interview that she had to face several miscarriages before the birth of her son Azad. In an interview with Zoom, she said that she wanted to become a mother but she had to face a lot of health problems. They said- "Azad (son) was born the same year we made the film Dhobi Ghat. I tried very hard to have a child. For 5 years I suffered a lot of miscarriages… a lot of personal and physical health problems. It was becoming very difficult for me to have a child. I was really looking forward to having a baby. So when Azad was born… I didn’t need to think anything else. I just wanted to raise my child."
‘Don’t regret not being able to do the work’
he adds- "I was very happy to find Azad. Those were the best years of my life. Because of this, I never regretted not being able to make any film or work for 10 years. I have no regrets because I enjoyed the moment very much."
Azad was born through surrogacy
Let us tell you, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao got married in the year 2005. The couple welcomed son Azad in 2011 through IVF surrogacy. However, the couple divorced in 2021 after 16 years of marriage. Even after divorce, they are parenting their son together.
