Divya Tanwar, daughter of Nimbi, a small village in Mahendragarh district, has given meaning to this proverb. Divya Tanwar, who belongs to a humble family, has secured 105th rank at All India level. Had achieved 438th rank in the UPSC exam held in the year 2021 and became an IPS officer at the age of 21, but Divya Tanwar’s dream was to become an IAS officer. Divya did not give up and continued preparing for the exam. This time Divya has got 105th rank at All India level. Divya’s family members are hopeful that this time their daughter has got a good rank. This time his daughter is expected to get Haryana cadre.

Father’s shadow had risen in childhood

The financial condition of his house was not good. After the death of the father in the year 2011, the family had to face a lot of difficulties. Divya was smart in studies and hence her mother Babita Tanwar supported her. Divya Tanwar completed her early education in the village school itself. He got selected in Navodaya Vidyalaya Karira in class VI. Divya completed her B.Sc from Government College Mahendragarh. After this, after one and a half years of preparation, in the year 2021, secured the 438th rank in the UPSC exam. She did not have proper financial support, but her mother always motivated her daughter to study and move ahead. Divya did not take any coaching and cleared the UPSC preliminary exam. Later, he took help from various online sources including test series to prepare for his UPSC Mains exam.

After the death of the father, the life of Divya Tanwar’s family got shattered. Financial crisis has arisen in front of his family. Divya Tanwar’s mother Babita Tanwar did not give up and took care of her family. He has three siblings in total. His mother made her three children able to stand on their feet by doing sewing and embroidery work. Divya Tanwar did not let her mother’s hard work go in vain and by studying 10 hours a day in a small room of the house, she cleared the UPSC exam in the first attempt without any coaching.
