The result of HCS Prelims will be based on marks obtained in General Studies paper only and CSAT paper will be of qualifying nature. Candidates need to obtain 33% marks in CSAT paper.

HPSC Civil Services Mains Exam Pattern
12 times the vacancies will be called for appearing in the HPSC HCS Mains exam. Candidates have to choose two optional subjects from the list of 23 optional subjects. HPSC Mains exam is a descriptive type exam consisting of five conventional essay-type question papers.

HPSC HCS Interview: Candidates securing marks equal to or more than the HCS cut-off marks will be called for Personality Test/Interview by HPSC. No candidate will be called for HCS interview unless the candidate secures 45% marks in the aggregate of all main written question papers and 33% marks in Hindi and English papers together. The number of candidates to be called for the HCS Personality Test will be three times the number of vacancies advertised.
