A big update has come regarding the recruitment by Haryana Public Service.

A big update has come regarding the recruitment by Haryana Public Service.

HPSC: Haryana Public Service Commission has taken an important decision, according to which the screening test will not be conducted if the number of candidates is less in the posts and the main examination will be conducted directly. Earlier the commission was of the view that direct interview should be conducted in case of less number of candidates, but this pattern can be criticized as in 2003 the commission started selection for the posts of assistant professor through direct interview. After which when the State Vigilance Bureau probed, irregularities were found in the appointments.

Syllabus of some subjects changed

Now the commission has decided that even after having fewer candidates, the candidates will not be called directly for the interview, but instead of the screening test, the subjective paper related to the subject will be taken directly. The commission has declared the pattern for PGT posts on Thursday. This decision of the Commission will be effective on all the recruitments for Group A and B posts. The commission has changed the syllabus of 7 subjects Sociology, Urdu, Geography, Home Science, Physics, Commerce and English out of 19 subjects of PGT.

First there will be screening test then subjective paper will be taken

The commission has decided that for the posts for which there will be more number, there will be a screening test first and then subject wise main examination will be conducted. Let us tell you that there will be negative marking in this exam, so one-fourth of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Even if a candidate does not answer a question, one fourth of the marks will be deducted. This question paper will be in English and Hindi. In this, the candidate will have to score at least 25 percent marks. As per the number of posts advertised, four times the number of candidates who qualify the screening test will be able to apply for the main examination. The marks obtained in the screening test are only for shortlisting and those marks will not be counted in the final selection.

Subjective paper will be of 3 hours

Candidates securing minimum 25 per cent in the screening test will be called for the second stage of subjective paper. This exam will be of three hours. For this, post-wise syllabus has been given on the website of the Commission. The paper for History, Political Science and Commerce subjects will be in English and Hindi. The paper for the remaining subjects will be in English, the total paper will be of 150 marks.

At least 35 percent marks have to be taken in this paper. Candidates securing double and highest marks in paper II will be called for interview. The weightage of the marks obtained in the subjective paper will be 87.5 percent, while the interview will be of 12.5 percent marks.

Screening test will not be done if the number of candidates is less

Merit wise selection list will be issued by adding the marks obtained in the subjective paper and interview. The screening test will not be conducted for the posts where the number of candidates is less. Therefore a direct subjective paper will be conducted for those posts. According to the category, 2 times will be called for interview.
