Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana was launched in 2016 with the objective of providing affordable crop insurance to the farmers. The scheme provides financial assistance to farmers in the event of crop failure or losses due to natural calamities, pests or diseases. Food, oilseed crops, horticulture and commercial crops are covered under this scheme.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched in February 2019. The objective of PM Kisan Yojana is to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. In this, an amount of Rs 6000 per year is given to the registered beneficiaries in three equal installments of Rs 2000 each. The beneficiaries of the scheme have received the 13th installment on February 27 itself.

Kisan Credit Card Scheme

The Kisan Credit Card scheme was launched in 1998 by the Central Government. The scheme provides affordable loans to farmers for agriculture and allied activities. It is worth mentioning that this scheme was implemented by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with public and private sector banks. Soil Health Card Scheme

The Soil Health Card Scheme, launched by the Center in February 2015, aims to promote soil testing and improve soil health in the country. The main objective of the scheme is to help farmers make informed decisions about nutrient management practices by providing them with Soil Health Cards, which contain information on the nutrient status of their soils.

PM Agriculture Irrigation Scheme

Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana was launched in 2015 with the goal of providing comprehensive irrigation solutions to farmers across the country. PM Krishi Sinchayee Yojana focuses on increasing agricultural water use efficiency, increasing adoption of precision irrigation techniques and increasing cultivable area under irrigation. Notably, the scheme also encourages the use of micro-irrigation techniques such as drip and sprinkler irrigation, which can significantly improve water use efficiency and crop productivity.
