Political journey started from 1980

Chandan Ram Das was the Transport Welfare Minister of Uttarakhand. He was MLA from Bageshwar. MLA Chandan Ram’s political career started in 1980. In 1997, he became the independent president of Nagar Palika Bageshwar. After this he became unopposed joint secretary in BA first year in MB Degree College Haldwani. In 2006, former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari included Chandan Ram Das in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Chandan Ram Das was elected MLA for the fourth consecutive time in 2007, 2012, 2017 and 2022. His death has been declared a two-day state mourning in the state.
