Wedding Fraud Uttar Pradesh: A case of fake mass marriage (Wedding Fraud) has been exposed in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. A video of this fake marriage ceremony is viral on social media. In which a large number of girls (brides) who came for marriage are seen garlanding themselves and the boys (grooms) themselves are seen hiding their faces. The complicity of government officials in the fraud has come to light. Police have arrested 15 people in this case. These include two government officers.

Fake marriage of about 568 couples in the program
According to the information, the mass wedding ceremony was organized on January 25. Officials claim that around 568 couples got married during this period. After the video went viral, when the investigation was done, it was found that money was distributed by the organizers to many couples to become bride and groom.

The bride herself put the garland and made the spectator the groom.  
Local people of Ballia say that they were lured with Rs 500 to Rs 2,000 to attend the mass marriage ceremony as bride and groom. There were some women at the function who did not have anyone. In such a situation, he himself wore the garland around his neck. Rajkumar, a boy who had gone to watch the ceremony, told an NDTV reporter that while he was standing there, he was offered money to become a groom. Many people were being made to sit like this.

BJP MLA Ketki Singh reached the function
BJP MLA Ketki Singh attended this mass wedding, which was in the news for fraud, as the chief guest. He said that the local authorities had invited me two days before the wedding ceremony. On the other hand, officials said that a 3-member committee has been formed for verification of all the beneficiaries. No money will be transferred to the beneficiaries until the investigation is completed.

Government gives 51 thousand rupees in marriage scheme
According to the information received from the government website of UP, the Yogi government gives 51 thousand rupees in the mass marriage scheme, out of which 35 thousand rupees. The bride gets Rs 10,000. Wedding items are purchased from. The remaining Rs 6,000 is spent on arrangements for the event.
