UP Weather Update: Red alert issued in 41 districts of UP regarding cold and fog, know how the weather will be today

UP Weather Update: Severe cold continues to wreak havoc in Uttar Pradesh. Fog and icy winds have also affected normal life. Dense fog is being seen in many areas including the capital Lucknow. In view of the weather, IMD has issued a red alert for cold in 41 districts. The districts which have been kept out of red alert will also remain cold but there will be some relief compared to these districts.

Even today, 26th January, there has been no respite from the cold. Rather the cold has increased further. According to the Meteorological Department, today’s weather is likely to remain dry throughout the day. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog in many areas. Cold wave alert has been issued in many areas of western UP.

Red alert continues in these districts
Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahraich, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Agra, Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun, Kanpur, Shravasti, Gonda, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Maharajganj of Uttar Pradesh. IMD has issued a red alert of dense fog and severe cold day in Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Banda, Fatehpur, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria, Prayagraj, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra.

Orange alert continues in these districts
Azamgarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Ayodhya, Ballia, May, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Amethi, Rae Bareli, Hardoi, Kannauj, Farrukhabad, Mainpuri, Barabanki, Lucknow, Unnao, Firozabad, Etah, Badayun, Hathras, Bulandshahr, Noida, Aligarh. Orange alert of fog and cold day has been issued in , Mathura, and Ghaziabad. This is going to continue for a few more days.

No relief from cold
Apart from January 26, there is a possibility of fog and severe cold in UP on January 27, 28 and 29 also. No significant change will be seen in the minimum temperature at present. There is a possibility of a slight increase in the minimum temperature in the last 48 hours. The lowest temperature in the state was recorded in Kanpur at 3.0 degrees Celsius.
