UP News: STF recovered brown sugar worth Rs 2.5 crore, two smugglers arrested

UP News:The STF team of Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested two persons smuggling brown sugar. The police have recovered brown sugar worth about Rs 2.5 crore from them. On Thursday, STF officials said that Budhan Paswan, a resident of Bihar, and Manish Yadav, a resident of Barabanki, were caught near a dhaba on the Lucknow-Ayodhya National Highway in Barabanki to Ram Sanehi Ghat police station area on Wednesday evening. Drugs were recovered from them during the search itself.

According to the police, during the search, 2.5 kg brown sugar was recovered from both of them. He told that the price of recovered brown sugar in the international market is about Rs 2.5 crore. According to the police, the arrested accused are residents of Bihar. When the police interrogated one of the accused Budhan, he told that he takes brown sugar from Barabanki resident Javed alias Tabrez and sells it in Nepal via Bihar.

According to the police, Budhan told that he sells it there at a high price and he has been doing this work for a long time. Budhan told that Manish Yadav, the second smuggler caught, is his associate, both of them share the profit in half. A case has been registered against both the accused in this matter. The police is taking further action till the questioning of both.

The police arrested both the accused near a dhaba on the Lucknow-Ayodhya National Highway on Wednesday evening. While giving this information on Thursday, the police said that brown sugar worth about Rs 2.5 crore has been recovered from both the accused.
