Violent protests have been witnessed in many parts of the country during the procession on Ram Navami. In Lucknow’s Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, a clash broke out between two groups of students while taking out a procession on Ram Navami on Thursday evening.

Students belonging to ABVP were taking out a procession of Ram Navami. Meanwhile, the students of the Dalit organization came in front of the procession and started violence. After this there was a lot of ruckus between the two groups. Both the groups came face to face with each other. There was a lot of fighting and shouting slogans among them. A fight also started between the two. Within no time, a huge crowd of students gathered outside the Vice Chancellor’s residence. Seeing the situation getting out of control, a large number of PAC and Ashiana police force reached the spot. The police is constantly engaged in pacifying both the sides. The atmosphere is still tense. Both the groups are still protesting outside the VC’s residence.

According to media reports, on Thursday, on the occasion of Ram Navami festival, ABVP-backed students took out a procession of Lord Ram in the university campus. Student organizations associated with Ambedkar University Dalit Student Union protested against this matter. Then what was there, the ruckus started on seeing it. Dalit students also tore the posters related to the procession. After this, it did not take long for the situation to deteriorate. Gradually, fighting started between the two groups. In a hurry, this information was given to the police. The police force that reached the spot is trying to pacify both the groups.

Heavy violence has been witnessed in Howrah, West Bengal. The protesters set several vehicles on fire. Many vehicles were seen burning in the city. Both the processions were pelted with stones by the protesters. A total of 14 people have been taken into custody by the police.
