Kannauj murder convict killed in Police Encounter:There is big news from Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh. Here Gurusahayganj police killed a criminal in an encounter on Thursday morning. While his companion is injured by bullet. Two constables were also injured in the firing by the miscreants. Everyone has been admitted to the hospital. After killing a jeweler in Gurusahayganj market on January 5, the miscreants looted jewelery and cash worth Rs 35 lakh from his shop. Police have recovered cash and jewelery worth about Rs 20 lakh.
Started firing due to fear of getting caught
The criminals Izhar son of Jumman and Talib son of Pappu, residents of Samdhan village, were going somewhere on a bike on Thursday morning. On the way, the Gurusahayganj police signaled them to stop near the police station. But fearing being caught, the miscreants opened fire on the police team. Due to which constables Aman Singh and Vinay Kumar posted at Gurusahayganj Kotwali were injured.
While defending themselves, the police started retaliating. In which Izhaar died due to bullet injury. While his companion Talib was injured. Both the constables and the injured Talib have been taken to the district hospital.
Jewelers were returning home after closing their shop
UP Police Director General (DG) Prashant Kumar said two assailants shot dead Mohammad Ayaz (32), who ran a jewelery shop, near Samdhan Town area of Kannauj on January 5. Gold and silver ornaments worth about Rs 35 lakh were looted. The miscreants had committed the crime when Mohammad Ayaz was returning home after closing his shop late in the evening.
Prashant Kumar said that along with gold and silver jewellery, cash worth Rs 20 lakh was also recovered from the miscreants. Forensic investigation of the incident is underway.
