Uttar Pradesh: New electric buses are going to start on Ghaziabad and Lucknow routes in Uttar Pradesh, Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh informed about this. The Transport Minister of Uttar Pradesh says that as soon as the experiment is successful, it will be started in other parts of the state as well. At present, it is being started on the Lucknow and Ghaziabad routes under the pilot project.
Passengers will be benefited
Passengers will also have to pay less fare in these electric buses running in Uttar Pradesh. Till now 2×2 seating arrangement buses were accepted for AC buses, which are now likely to contract under 3×2 seating arrangement scheme. This will benefit commuters at 30 paise per kilometer. It is being told that their fare will be Rs 1.63 per kilometer, which will be 30 paise per kilometer cheaper than the fare of old buses. Electric buses are already running in Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Varanasi, Kanpur in UP.
