The news of a massive fire is coming out from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. A massive fire broke out in Kanpur’s biggest hosiery market Hamraj Complex late on Thursday at around 12 o’clock. Due to strong wind, the fire spread rapidly and engulfed other markets as well. The incident of this fire was informed to the fire department, after which about 50 vehicles of the fire department reached the spot. The fire is so fierce that the fire department is trying to control the fire. Fire brigade vehicles from other cities are also being called to control the fire.
About 500 shops burnt down
After the fire in the textile market of Hosiery market, the President of the Board of Trade Gurvinder Singh Chavda reached the spot and along with it the police-administration team also reached to take stock. According to media reports, about 500 shops were burnt to ashes due to this fire, due to which traders lost crores of rupees. According to the police, it is not yet known how the fire broke out, but eyewitnesses said that the cause of the fire was a short circuit. The fire was so severe that it also engulfed shops in AR Tower, Arjun Complex, Masood Complex and Nafees Tower.
Chief Minister Yogi took cognizance of the incident
Taking cognizance of the fire in the textile market of Hosiery market, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the officials to speed up the work as soon as possible. After this incident, Joint Commissioner Anand Prakash Tiwari, who was present on the spot, told that the teams of the fire department are trying to extinguish further. It is taking time to douse the fire as it has spread all around the tower.
