ATS big action on PFI in UP, many members arrested

Simultaneous raids of Uttar Pradesh Anti Terror Squad (ATS) in different cities on Sunday morning created a stir. Under this, search operations are being conducted in several cities including Lucknow, Meerut, Moradabad, Varanasi and Azamgarh. UP ATS has arrested a PFI member from Vikas Nagar area. At the same time, one PFI member has been arrested from Lucknow, four from Varanasi, one from Moradabad, three from Azamgarh and five from Meerut. Some illegal documents have also been recovered from these people.

SP leader Abdul Khaliq has also been arrested in the action of Anti Terror Squad (ATS). Not only this, the ATS team is also conducting raids in Ghaziabad’s Kalchina, Modinagar, Bulandshahr and some parts of Shamli in search of PFI members. At the same time, information has been received from Mawana that Mohammad Musa has been arrested. The ATS team in plain uniform has carried out this major operation. All of them will be questioned regarding PFI.

Earlier NIA has also taken action

Earlier on April 25, the National Investigation Agency had taken major action against the banned organization PFI. The NIA raided 17 locations including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The NIA team was searching the house of people associated with the Popular Front of India (PFI). The NIA team had searched the house of people involved in terrorist funding and other cases and was trying to collect some evidence related to the organization.

PFI is banned since last year

Last year in 2022, the organization of PFI was banned by the central government for 5 years. The demand to ban this organization was continuously being made by the states. After it was banned, NIA had arrested many people associated with this organization. In this case, the National Investigation Agency had found enough evidence against PFI.
