Rampur Ambedkar Park controversy: There was a dispute between two parties regarding the installation of Ambedkar statue in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh. During this time, a student died due to bullet injury, which enraged the people and they created a blockade. FIR has been lodged against 25 people including 6 policemen in the case.

The incident took place in Silai Bada village of Rampur district. It was told that the administration had freed the disputed land from encroachment 15 days ago. On which some people put up the board of Ambedkar Park. Members of the Gangwar family opposed the installation of the board. After which stone pelting and firing took place. Sumesh, a class 10 student, died in this incident. The protesting people said that the place where the statue is being installed is a manure pit and the land belongs to the Gangwar community.

Bhim Army founder Chandrashekhar Azad also reached the spot. Said, Dalits are being oppressed. Somesh has been murdered in Rampur. Many people are injured, but have been controlled by the police. I can’t even meet the victim’s family. Referring to the Hathras incident, he has raised six demands. Said that a judicial inquiry should be conducted into the matter and strict action should be taken against the culprits. Besides, the family of the deceased should get financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh and one member should get a government job.
