AIMIM party candidate Ghazala Tabassum has won the post of president from Ghatampur municipality seat in the district. Apart from this, Mohammad Anas stood second on the Mayor seat of Meerut Municipal Corporation. He stood first in the initial rounds and gave a tough fight to BJP candidate Harikant Ahulwalia. In the end, Ahulwalia defeated him, but he left the candidates of SP, BSP and Congress far behind. In this way, AIMIM has made a dent in the Muslim vote bank of other parties.
