Rajasthan Election 2023: The Bharatiya Janata Party has not fielded a Muslim candidate in any of the 200 assembly constituencies in Rajasthan, where elections will be held on November 25. However, in the 2018 elections, the party had fielded Yunus Khan from the Muslim community. From Tonk seat, which he lost to Sachin Pilot of Congress. However, this time his ticket has been cancelled. The party did not give a chance to any new Muslim face in place of Yunus, whereas Muslims have a lot of influence on 35 seats in eight to ten districts of Rajasthan. Not only this, BJP has tried to give a political message by fielding saints on three Muslim dominated seats.

BJP’s political message

During the tenure of Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, BJP used to field Ramzan Khan as a candidate from Hindu pilgrimage Pushkar. He was also given the post of minister in Shekhawat government. After BJP government came to power in Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje fielded Yunus Khan from Tonk. Since then Yunus had been contesting elections from BJP. There were powerful ministers during both the tenures of Vasundhara, but now the ticket has been cut. Apart from Yunus, Habiburman has also been an MLA from BJP. In the year 2018, the party did not give him the ticket and expressed confidence in some other candidate. During Vasundhara’s time, Sagir Khan used to get ticket from Dholpur.

BJP’s Mahant candidate

Mahant Pratap Puri has been fielded from Pokaran Assembly. He has also served as MLA earlier. This time Bharatiya Janata Party has again gambled on him. On the other hand, the party has also given ticket to Balmukund Acharya from Hawa Mahal. On behalf of Balmukund, it was said that this time BJP has expressed confidence in a Sanatani worker. He has been working in Parkota for the last five years. Alwar MP Baba Balak Nath has been fielded from Tijara. He belongs to the Nath sect. CM Yogi Adityanath also belongs to this sect.
