Gallantry Service Awards: Two soldiers from Rajasthan will receive President’s Gallantry Award;  were martyred in Africa

Gallantry Service Awards:The Central Government has announced the names of people awarded with Gallantry and Service Medals on the occasion of Republic Day 2024. It was informed by the Union Home Ministry that a total of 1132 employees have been awarded gallantry and service medals.

Posthumous honor to two BSF constables
In this, two head constables of Rajasthan Border Security Force, late Sawla Ram Vishnoi and late Shishu Pal Singh, have been posthumously selected for the President’s Gallantry Medal.

Martyred in Congo, Africa
Two Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers were residents of Barmer, Rajasthan. He was posted in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Congo (DR), Africa. Sawalaram Vishnoi (45) was from Barmer and Shishram was from Sikar. He was holding the post of Head Constable in BSF.

Shot while talking on video call
The family of jawan Shishram told that during the violent protest he was talking on video call with his wife. During this time he got shot. Martyr’s wife is a government teacher. they have two children. The son is doing graduation and the daughter has done MBBS.

277 personnel will receive gallantry and president medals
277 gallantry medals have been announced in two categories. Which includes 275 medals and two President’s medals for gallantry. Out of these 277, 133 personnel are being honored for working in Jammu and Kashmir and 119 personnel are being honored for working in Left Wing Extremism affected areas. While 25 personnel will get it for their commendable work in other areas.
