Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur, parents of famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala, sat on a dharna outside the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday. The police tried hard to pacify both of them, but they remained adamant on their demand. Balkaur Singh alleged that we had received several assurances from the police and the state government, but so far his son has not got justice. Balkaur Singh, who was sitting on a dharna outside the assembly building in Chandigarh, also alleged that efforts were being made to hush up the matter.
According to media reports,Balkaur Singh said that the murder of his son should be investigated by the CBI. The Punjab government is dragging its feet on this issue. He said that I went to the police and administration several times during the last 10 months, I was also assured, but what is happening here is being done to cover up the murder of my child. Nothing is going my way. He said that’s why I had to come to the assembly.

Balkaur Singh further said that gangster Goldie Brar was involved in killing his son. He has not been able to come in the dock of justice yet. The police and the government have done nothing for this. Musewala’s father said he would sit on a dharna outside the assembly till the session is over, demanding justice for his son.
Opposition targeted
Congress MLAs also sat outside the Assembly demanding justice for Sidhu Musewala. Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should meet Musewala’s parents and apologize to them for the delay in the investigation into the murder.
